Παρασκευή σήμερα και αφού δεν έχουμε Fridays at Glenti θα προσπαθήσω εγώ μ' αυτό το post να σας βάλω σε Friday mood!

Στις 27 Ιουνίου ανέβηκε ένα βιντεάκι στο YouTube στο οποίο ο James Arthur τραγουδούσε αυτό το κομμάτι σε μία συναυλία του. Από τότε προέβλεψα ότι αυτό το κομμάτι θα γινόταν το πρώτο του single και θα είχε τεράστια επιτυχία.

Το κομμάτι, λοιπόν, πράγματι επιλέχτηκε για πρώτο single στο επερχόμενο self-titled album του και χθες ανέβηκε στο YouTube το video clip του.

Με τον Alejandro έχουμε βάλει στοίχημα. Μόλις το βίντεο ξεπεράσει τα 800.000 views έχω στην κατοχή μου ένα βιντεάκι που θα αναρτήσω! Αν δεν τα ξεπεράσει, τότε χάνω. Easy!

Talonding & Bucong - Dance with My Father (cover)

Ένα βίντεο που είχαμε δει πριν από αρκετό καιρό αλλά δεν είχε τύχει να σας το παρουσιάσουμε, είναι το cover που έκανε ένα αγόρι από τις Φιλιππίνες στο τραγούδι Dance with My Father του Luther Vandross. Ο Duke Dumont συνεργάστηκε με την Α*Μ*Ε και δημιούργησε ένα απόλυτα χορευτικό τραγούδι για να ντύσει το καλοκαίρι μας. Σ' ένα τόσο φοβερό κομμάτι δεν θα μπορούσε να λείπει και ένα εξίσου απίστευτο video clip. Απολαύστε το!

Ian Rubbish & The Bizarros - "It's A Lovely Day" (song)

Αυτό το τραγούδι ήταν ο πιο όμορφος τρόπος για να αποχαιρετήσει ο Fred Armisen και ο Bill Hader το Saturday Night Live.

Ποιοι αποτελούν το συγκρότημα Ian Rubbish & The Bizarros; Ο Ian Rubbish (Fred Armisen), ο Derek Gash (Bill Hader) και ο Keith Grimshaw (Taran Killam). Δεν είναι δηλαδή ένα πραγματικό συγκρότημα αλλά ένα Βρετανικό Punk rock συγκρότημα που δημιουργήθηκε για ένα κωμικό σκετσάκι σχετικά με τον θάνατο της Μάργκαρετ Θάτσερ!

Το... "συγκρότημα" επέστρεψε στο τελευταίο επεισόδιο της season, που αποτέλεσε και το τελευταίο επεισόδιο της παρουσίας των Armisen και Hader στο show, για να τραγουδήσει το It's A Lovely Day...

Ένα ακόμη δυνατό κομμάτι από τους Florence + The Machine επιλέξαμε σήμερα για τραγούδι της ημέρας! Το συγκεκριμένο single κυκλοφόρησε στις 17 Απριλίου και το τραγούδι περιλαμβάνεται στο soundtrack της ταινίας The Great Gatsby.

Την ταινία ομολογώ πως δεν την έχω δει, ξέρω όμως πως την έχουν δει άλλοι συντάκτες του Γλεντιού, οπότε μπορούν να μας πουν αν ήταν καλή! Το τραγούδι, όμως, τα σπάει! Κι αυτό το λέω με σιγουριά! enJoy !!!

"Επιστράτευση 1974", Δήμος Μούτσης

Η επιστράτευση είναι μια λέξη που πάει πολύ της μόδας. Πριν από λίγο καιρό είχε γίνει η επιστράτευση των εργαζομένων στα Μέσα Μαζικής Μεταφοράς, πριν από αυτό η επιστράτευση των οδηγών φορτηγών και τώρα η επιστράτευση των καθηγητών.

Τι σημαίνει επιστράτευση; Ουσιαστικά, αυτές οι κατηγορίες πολιτών ουσιαστικά παύουν να είναι πολίτες και γίνονται στρατιώτες. Το οποίο σημαίνει ότι υπόκεινται σε μια στρατιωτική ιεραρχία και εάν παρακούσουν κινδυνεύουν με βαριές κυρώσεις. Όσοι αρνούνται να παρακούσουν δικάζονται με αυτόφωρο.

Πότε ήταν η τελευταία φορά που η επιστράτευση είχε γίνει της μόδας; Μα, στη χούντα φυσικά... Τυχαίο; Δε νομίζω...

Επειδή εμείς εδώ στο Γλέντι πάνω απ' όλα σεβόμαστε τις προτιμήσεις των υπόλοιπων συντακτών, η σημερινή επιλογή στο song of the day είναι αφιερωμένη στον συντάκτη Λούη.

Ο Λούης είχε κάνει αυτό το σχόλιο για τη φωνή του Passenger, το οποίο εύκολα πρόδιδε ότι τον έχει μαγέψει όσο καμία. Γι' αυτό και το σημερινό μας τραγούδι είναι του αγαπημένου του καλλιτέχνη...

Sheeran, Passenger - "No Diggity Vs Thrift Shop" (song)

Σήμερα στη στήλη μας song of the day επιλέξαμε μία διασκευή που έκαναν δύο εξαιρετικοί Βρετανοί καλλιτέχνες, ο Ed Sheeran και ο Passenger. Έκαναν ένα ακουστικό mashup των τραγουδιών No Diggity και Thrift Shop. Ας το απολαύσουμε...

I Wonder και η γνωριμία μου με τον S. Rodriguez by Alejandro

Το τραγούδι I Wonder από τον Sixto Rodriguez είναι ένα από τα αγαπημένα μου από το album Cold Fact που βγήκε το 1970 στις Η.Π.Α στην αγορά και... δεν το αγόρασε κανείς. Ναι, φίλοι μου, καλά το υποπτευθήκατε. Θα σας διηγηθώ πως αυτό το τραγούδι έφτασε στα χέρια μου, ενώ δεν το αγόρασε κανείς όταν πρωτοβγήκε. Σίγουρα δεν είμαι τόσο ψαγμένος για να ακούω όλα τα album του 1970 για να δω αν ψαρέψω κανά λαβράκι.

Η ιστορία του Sixto (έχουμε γίνει φίλοι πια) είναι πράγματι εντυπωσιακή και έγινε γνωστή στο ευρύτερο κοινό και σε μένα μέσα από το ντοκιμαντέρ Searching for Sugar Man, που ορισμένοι από εσάς ψηφίσατε στον διαγωνισμό του Γλεντιού για τα Oscars (μουχρίτσες, ψηφίσατε τα φαβορί, δεν είχατε ιδέα για το περιεχόμενο του ντοκιμαντέρ, γι' αυτό ανοίξτε τα μάτια σας και διαβάστε αυτά που έχω να σας πω).

Ο Rodriguez έβγαλε στα νιάτα του δύο album με ομολογουμένως εξαιρετικά τραγούδια. Όμως η αγορά των Η.Π.Α του γύρισε την πλάτη. Ο κύριος έζησε στην αφάνεια, δούλεψε σε οικοδομές για να βγάλει τα προς το ζην. Μέχρι...

Μέχρι που κάτι τρελοί Νοτιοαφρικανοί αποφάσισαν να τον βρουν! Μα καλά, η Νότια Αφρική που κολλάει; Κολλάει! Μπορεί στις ΗΠΑ ο πρωταγωνιστής μας να πήρε τον που... (εεε, να μη γνώρισε επιτυχία), αλλά στη Νότια Αφρική ήταν κάτι σαν λαϊκός ήρωας. Τα τραγούδια του ενέπνευσαν τον αγώνα κατά του Apartheid και το όνομα του ήταν γνωστό σε όλους! Οι Νοτιαφρικανοί θέλησαν, λοιπόν, να μάθουν πως έληξε η ζωή αυτού του μεγάλου καλλιτέχνη.

Καλά, ακόμα δεν τον γνωρίσαμε και τον θάψαμε; Είναι νεκρός ο Sixto; Για τους Νοτιοαφρικανούς ναι είναι, καθότι λέγεται ότι ο φίλος μας έβαλε τέλος στη ζωή του πάνω στη σκηνή, στην πρώτη του νιότη.

Έλα όμως που η ζωή (ή ο θάνατος;) είναι γεμάτη εκπλήξεις! Ψάχνοντας για το πως πέθανε ο Sugar Man, διαπίστωσαν ότι αυτός ήταν ζωντανός και δούλευε στις οικοδομές του Detroit (χα! Σας την έφερα!). Αυτά το έτος 1998. Όταν τον συνάντησαν του έκαναν γνωστή την τεράστια επιτυχία του στη Νότια Αφρική για την οποία ο ίδιος δεν είχε ιδέα. Τότε το internet δεν είχε καταστήσει τον πλανήτη παγκόσμιο χωριό και το απρόβλεπτο ήταν ακόμη υπαρκτό.

Η συνέχεια για τον Sixto ήταν συγκινητική. Από την πλήρη απαξίωση, έδωσε το 1998 πέντε συναυλίες στη Νότια Αφρική  που ήταν sold out γνωρίζοντας πρωτοφανή αποθέωση! Στην ίδια του τη χώρα φαίνεται να κερδίζει επιτέλους αναγνώριση 42 χρόνια μετά. Το 2012, μετά την κυκλοφορία του ντοκιμαντέρ που έκανε γνωστή την ιστορία...

C2C - "Down the Road" (song)

Αυτό το τραγούδι έκανα πολύ μεγάλη προσπάθεια να το βρω! Το άκουγα στον Energy 88.6, έγραφα τους στίχους στο κινητό μου και μετά προσπαθούσα - μάταια - να το βρω στο YouTube. Σήμερα, όμως, έστειλα όλες τις πληροφορίες που είχα στη σελίδα του Energy στο facebook, μου απάντησαν και ιδού!

Το συγκρότημα λέγεται C2C, είναι από τη Γαλλία και η μουσική που παίζει ονομάζεται turntablism. Σ' αυτό το είδος οι καλλιτέχνες δημιουργούν μουσική συνδυάζοντας πικάπ και DJ mixer.

Το κομμάτι ονομάζεται Down the Road, είναι του 2012 και έφτασε στην πρώτη θέση των charts στη Γαλλία. Here we go!

Το τελευταίο album του Justin Timberlake είχε κυκλοφορήσει το 2006. 7 χρόνια μετά επιστρέφει μουσικά με το album The 20/20 Experience! Το 1ο single του κυκλοφόρησε σήμερα στο itunes και στο site του. Ονομάζεται Suit and Tie και σ' αυτό συμμετέχουν ο Jay-Z και ο Timbaland. Ας το απολαύσουμε!

Onirama & Ράδιο Αρβύλα - "Ευτυχώς Τρελάθηκα" (song)

Η φωτογραφία που έχουμε βάλει για να συνοδεύσει το θέμα μιλάει από μόνη της! Οι Onirama έφτιαξαν το video clip για το τραγούδι τους Ευτυχώς Τρελάθηκα παρέα με τους Ράδιο Αρβύλα και το αποτέλεσμα - όπως αναμενόταν - μας έκανε να χαμογελάσουμε...
